Chillicothe, OH--Mapped!

Image
SpotCrime is now mapping  Chillicothe, OH , the county seat of Ross County! Chillicothe was the first and third capital of Ohio (the capital now is Columbus ).  From 1803 to 1810  the captial was found in Chillicothe, then it was moved to Zanesville for two years.  In 1812, the capital was moved back to Chillicothe, only to be moved yet again to it's final place in Columbus in 1816.  Columbus was chosen in order to locate the capital geographically in the center of the state. The southern Ohio Crime Stoppers was recently awarded for giving 1 award per month for crime tips from residents.  Shelia Stearos, the local Crime Stoppers president notes that it's "fantastic".  She also states that   "It means the word is getting out and law enforcement are following up on tips". The Chillicothe PD was recently reduced in staff so tools like SpotCrime and Crime Stoppers, along with the preparedness and watchful eye from residents, help to keep the area safe.
