We offer many ways to users to view crime in their area. Here are just a few suggestions to help in your home search. SpotCrime and MyLocalCrime Once you’ve found the area you’re interested in moving to, head to SpotCrime or MyLocalCrime (or SpotCrime.info if you're on your mobile) for a quick view of crime in the area. It would be a good idea to check out crime around any shopping centers you would frequent and around any schools your children would attend, too. How To Unsubscribe From SpotCrime

SpotCrime users have the ability to unsubscribe from our service right within their email alerts. On the bottom right-hand side of your email alert, there is a link to unsubscribe (see picture below). Click the link, and you will be redirected to the SpotCrime website. You will be asked to confirm your request to unsubscribe by clicking the unsubscribe button. Success! You will get a confirmation message that lets you know that your account is now deactivated. We're sad to see you go, and hope it's not for long. We are constantly working to improve SpotCrime and add more data to our site. We greatly value user feedback as well! Have good ideas for us? Wanna learn how to search by date range on SpotCrime?

Here are some instructions that show you how to narrow your crime data search by date on our interactive maps. On the homepage , select the state that you want to search from the dropdown menu on the top right-hand side of the page. Once you've selected the state that you want, hit Go. I'm going to do a date range search in Jacksonville, Florida. Once you hit Go, a list of Florida cities are available to select from. To view the interactive map for Jacksonville, click Jacksonville Crime Map. As you can see, the interactive maps look a bit different from the map on the homepage. There are several features that allow you to narrow down your data search, including date ranges. I'm going to search all available data for the dates of April 25th-May 2nd, 2011. Select the from date and the to date, then hit Refresh Map. Once the map is refreshed, only the crimes that fall within the dates of April 25th and May 2nd appear.

The new SpotCrime layout still has similar features The new page is designed to give immediate crime information around your location, make sure to click 'Accept' or Approve' in your browser to share your location with us. We'll do the rest, and provide a crime map of your location with the most recent crime data we have available. Below the map, you'll find a crime table of incidents based on proximity and date. Pull down menu to search by state is still available, make sure to click 'GO' after you select your state You can still find our fully functional interactive maps by using the pull down menu on the top left and selecting your state. From there, chose your city or neighborhood crime map, and you'll be able to access a fully searchable crime map. We do not remove historical data, so plea
