Riverside County, CA Crime Map!

Riverside County, CA is now on SpotCrime! Riverside County is the fourth largest county in California with population of over 2 million, and is among the fastest growing areas in the US. It's located near San Bernardino , Los Angeles , and San Diego counties and stretches across Southern California from the Colorado River to the California/Arizona border. The close proximity to San Diego and Los Angeles make it a desirable place for commuters to live. Many cities in the county contract with the Sheriff's office for police services including: Temecula , population 100k+ and known as a commuter town for it's equidistant between LA , San Diego , and Orange County ;   Palm Desert , population approx. 50k and one of California's fastest growing cities in the '80's and '90's; and  Moreno Valley , population approx. 194k and the second largest city in Riverside County . It's also home to 12 federally recognized Indian Reservations. FBI 2011 UCR Statistics - Violent and Property Crimes

The FBI recently published their annual 2011 UCR statistics for cities across the US.  These statistics are compiled by the FBI with data that is submitted by police departments.  Most departments across the US voluntarily submit their crime data to the FBI on a monthly basis.  If you're interested in UCR statistics for your city, give your local PD a ring - UCR stats are public information. You can check out and download the FBI 2011 UCR data here Out of curiosity, I created a few charts to visualize what my chances were of being a victim of crimes in cities with a population greater than 1 million.  These cities included Chicago , Dallas , Houston , Las Vegas , Los Angeles , New York , Philadelphia , Phoenix , San Antonio , and San Diego .
