Sioux Falls, South Dakota--Crime Stops Here!

Sioux Falls is the largest city in South Dakota with a population of approx 238, 000. It is found in the Southeastern part of the state, about 15 miles west of the Minnesota border and 8 miles northwest of the Iowa border.

In 2010, the city was ranked #1 by Forbes as 'Best Small Places for Business and Careers' and #77 by CNNMoney as one of the 'Best Places to Live'.

Checking out the SpotCrime crime map, you can see vandalism occurs throughout the city, not focusing on one specific area. On July 12, 2010, local media reported that the city was hit with a couple of acts of vandalism. The police and community believe them to be 'random acts' and still feel that their city is a safe place to live.

The best way to prevent vandalism is to report any suspicious activity to your local police department. Businesses are a main target for vandals, therefor lock any doors and gates to prevent potential vandals from entering property. Installing motion sensor lights can scare away anyone who is not supposed to be around.
