The Pacific Northwest Crime Maps

SpotCrime now maps crime in Seattle along with surrounding cities including Bellevue, Tacoma and Olympia.

That's about 1 million people across 3 different counties who now have access to local crime information right at their finger tips!

Seattle is the largest major city in the Pacific Northwest, ranked as the 15th largest city in the US.

Check out the SpotCrime Seattle map to see where most crime occur, primarily in the downtown area. Recently, a thief tried to steal an ATM from a Downtown Seattle bank! Luckily, they weren't very successful.

Bellevue is the eastern neighbor to Seattle, found across Lake Washington. Bellevue is a rapidly growing city, now categorized as a 'boomburb' of Seattle. It was found number 1 on CNNMoney Magazine's 'Best City to Live' list in 2008. The name Bellevue is French for 'beautiful view' because of the city's location on the lake.
Bellevue was also ranked as one of the 25 safest cities in the US in 2006! Check out the SpotCrime map to help stay informed of what's happening around your area and also to help the police keep the city safe. Or you might find yourself like this bride who was arrested on her wedding day for a DUI (talk about the wedding bell blues)

Tacoma is found south of Seattle, in Pierce County. Like other Pacific northwest cities, Tacoma is beautiful, but has long been known for its rough, gritty image holding a smell known to non locals as the "Tacoma Aroma". The Tacoma-Pierce County area has once been voted as one of the best places to live. It was also once voted as the "Most Sexually Healthy City", and there has been a recent (rated X) burglary to back up this claim!

Although there have been recent burglaries and thefts in the city, they don't seem to occur in similar areas. In fact, the city has the ATTF (Auto Theft Task Force) which was created to help residents protect their vehicles. The most commonly stolen car in Tacoma is not the Toyota Tacoma, but the Honda Civic. Check out the SpotCrime or MyLocalCrime maps to see in detail when and where the burglaries and thefts have occurred.

Olympia is found south of Seattle and Tacoma, acting as Washington's captial city and the county seat of Thurston County.

On the Olympia map, you'll find a number of assaults and vandalism incidents. Check out the map to see if vandalism is a problem in your neighborhood. Begin reporting any suspicious activity to the police department if you are concern with the number of vandalism cases around your home. Recently, there was a protest in regards to police brutality. A woman was arrested for assault for kicking two officers and the protesters also vandalized (by spray painting) a reporters camera!

Check out SpotCrime and MyLocalCrime to view the full maps in more detail. Sign up for your local crime alerts as well! Stay informed and stay safe in the Pacific northwest of the US!
