Rash of Robberies over the Past Week in Frederick, MD

Frederick, a city population of about 59,200 located in west-central Maryland, experienced six robberies over the past week.  Four of those robberies occurred this past Halloween weekend.

In a majority of the robberies, the suspect (s) carried a weapon.  In two of the robberies, the suspect was seen wearing a black t-shirt.  Both robberies on Halloween involved a group of four black males assaulting a subject and then taking money or property.  In the last robbery, police were successfully able to apprehend and arrest a suspect.

The first robbery occurred on Saturday October 27th when a black male entered an ice cream shop and attempted to reach over the counter and take money from the cash register.  He fled the scene empty handed.  Police were unable to locate the suspect.

The second robbery occurred three days later in the early morning of Saturday October 30th.  A black male wearing a black t-shirt and armed with a knife approached a victim after he was finished at an ATM on S Jefferson Street.  The suspect tried to enter a cab with the victim, but the cab sped away.  Police were unable to locate a suspect.

The third robbery occurred hours later at the Rosemont Chevron when a black male wearing a black t-shirt over his face and armed with a knife entered the store and threatened the employee.  The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of money.  Police were unable to locate a suspect.

The fourth robbery occurred the afternoon of Halloween.  A group of suspects approached a victim and began to assault him.  The they took money from his pocket after they struck him with a hard object.  The victim was treated for his injuries at the hospital.  No suspects were located because the victim was unable to provide descriptions of his assailants.

Later that evening, the fifth robbery occurred when a group of males approached a victim and tripped him to the ground.  They then assaulted him until he was semi-conscious.  The group of four black males then stole property from him and ran off.  The victim ended up in the hospital where he was treated for jaw injuries.  No suspects were located.

The sixth robbery occurred on November 2 at a CVS pharmacy.  The suspect entered the store and began to steal merchandise.  When he was confronted by an employee, the suspect pulled out a gun and pointed it at the employee and then fled the scene.  The suspect was later located and arrest by Frederick Police.
