SpotCrime is now mapping crime in the Auburn-Opelika Metro area in Lee County, Alabama!

This area is located in east-central Alabama and is the 19th fastest growing metro area in the US between 1990-2000.  The area has a population of over 135k.  SpotCrime offers maps for Auburn, Opelika, Lee County and Valley.

Auburn is the largest city in eastern Alabama with a population over 57k and holds Auburn University, most recently home of Cam Newton, the 2010 Heisman Trophy winner.  The city was also among the top 10 list of best places to live in the US in 2009.

Check out the Auburn map and you'll see a group of burglaries outside of the University.

A majority of these burglaries have occurred within the first two weeks of December.  Be sure to keep an eye out for  any suspicious activities.  With the Christmas vacation days approaching and an increase in deliveries criminals are more likely to strike.  Always make sure to take preventative measures to make sure you aren't a victim of a crime.
