Crime Worldwide: United Kingdom

SpotCrime UK Map
Crime is a worldwide problem.  Besides the US, other countries like the UK are working to make their crime data public.  Recently, the UK launched a website for England and Wales (found here) that provides policing information (the site cost about 300,000 British pounds).

SpotCrime has been able to use this information to create SpotCrime maps for UK.  With SpotCrime's version, you have the ability to view a map with out having to know the postcode, town, village or street. Check out the WorldWide SpotCrime maps here.  Simply choose the area you are interested in viewing, click on the link and a map appears.

SpotCrime isn't the only website using public crime information to create their own version of crime maps.  Check out this website.  It pulls information from the same source and presents it in a different format.  The search procedure is similar to the UK government website and all crime icons are the same.  And both websites, unlike SpotCrime, do not offer crime alerts directly to your inbox.

Whatever your preference to view crime data, stay informed and know your neighborhood.  Be sure to head to SpotCrime or MyLocalCrime to sign up for your US or UK crime alerts.  Stay safe!
