Do you want to see crime in London on your iPhone? SpotCrime is now selling an iPhone app that gives you up to date crime data for London and the surrounding areas. Using the iPhone's gps, SpotCrime London will pinpoint your location and show you the nearest crimes or the most recent crimes. We've just launched three new city apps for the iPhone App Store. In addition to NYC, SpotCrime now has apps for London, Chicago, and our home city Baltimore.

The following two maps show a representation of crime events reported by the UK media.  The fist icon represents assaults and in most cases stabbings.  The red target icons represent shootings.  In the second map below, we are only showing the shootings reported by the media in and around London for 2008.  This project started in April, and therefore, the data does not reach back to January 2008.   The map below is a representation of most of the shootings reported by the UK media from March to September 2008.   To see the complete crime data we've been able to collect at SpotCrime.  Please check our live London Crime Map at  http://www.spotcrime.com/uk/london . By zooming out on the map, you'll see that we are collecting crime data all over the United Kingdom.

The following link contains the map of the two most recent stabbings in the UK. SpotCrime Map link here. A 16 year old boy outside Manchester and a 17 year old in Croydon were murdered early this morning. Addtionally, the Croydon stabbing was very close in proximity and time to another stabbing on July 21st.

Within the past week, three cabbies have been robbed at knifepoint in the UK. All three cabbies picked up their passengers, took them to their destinations and then were robbed. Two of the robberies took place in Hatfield and the other was in St. Albans. All of the crimes took place relatively close to each other.
