Snohomish County, WA is on the Map!

SpotCrime is now mapping Snohomish (pronounce d  /snɵˈhoʊmɨʃ/ ) County, WA.  The county is home to approximately 713,000 people and is located in Northern Washington, just north of King County and Seattle .  The county holds some major cities of Washington, including Everett , Marysville , Lynnwood and Edmonds .   Snohomish County is also one of the fastest growing counties in the state! The county, like any county in Washington, is home to many mountains like Glacier Peak and the Cascade Mountains.  The Puget Sound and Port Susan lie to the west of the county.  A short ferry ride from Mukilteo will land you on Whidbey Island , home of NAS Whidbey and Oak Harbor .  Route 5 runs through the county and will take you south into Seattle or north to Vancouver, BC . No Need to Speed Campaigns -- What to do if you find yourself pulled over

The 'No Need 2 Speed' campaign commenced this week in North Carolina .  The State Highway Patrol and local law enforcement agencies are cracking down on speeding. “I urge drivers to slow down and obey the speed limit,” said Governor's Highway Safety Program director Becky Wallace. “For every 10 miles per hour you drive over 50 mph, you double your chances of dying or being seriously injured.” Officers will focus their efforts on interstates and major four-lane highways across the state. During the 'No Need 2 Speed' campaign in November 2010, state and local law enforcement agencies cited 26,870 motorists for speeding.
