If you are an Ohio subscriber you may have noticed that some of your alerts included more data than normal. That’s because some of the data we uploaded was from 2014. Interested in up-to-date data and crime alerts for your Ohio town ? Let us know and let your local police department know! Ask them to make up-to-date crime data available. Suggest they post it on their website in an open format - meaning it’s available for anyone to view, use, and share (not just SpotCrime!). Up-to-date data will allow us to send our daily and weekly alerts. And it will allow you to be a better informed citizen. Stay aware, stay safe!

Holy Toledo, It's a SpotCrime Map!

SpotCrime  is now mapping crime in Toledo, OH! Toledo is the 4th most populous city in Ohio with a population of over 285k. In the past, we've been mapping crime from local trusted media outlets. Now, the police department is supplying information on their website for the first time since SpotCrime has been around. This is a great step in the right direction for transparency in Toledo! Dayton, Ohio Crime is on SpotCrime!

SpotCrime has started to map crime data in Dayton, Ohio ! Dayton, OH on SpotCrime.com The Dayton Police Department pushes crime information to the public via their own website. SpotCrime uses that information to map Dayton. Why map the crime data on our map too you ask? SpotCrime has over half a million subscribers . That's roughly more than 5 million email alerts we send out on a monthly basis to our subscribers. We figure the more eyes we can get on the crime, the safer the communities will become! So go ahead, check out the Dayton PD website and SpotCrime. Figure out which one you like best. 'The Fun Center of Ohio' is on the Map!

SpotCrime now has a map for Mansfield, OH, the county sear of Richland County .  Mansfield is located directly in between Cleveland and Columbus and has a population of almost 50k, the largest 'mid-ohio' city.  It was founded in 1808 on the fork of the Mohican River. Mansfield's official nickname is 'The Fun Center of Ohio', but it is also known as the 'Carousel Capital of Ohio' and the 'Racing Capital of Ohio'.  The city is the back drop of many movies including Shawshank Redemption and Air Force One.   Check out the SpotCrime or MyLocalCrime map to get a view of the crime that occurs in your area.  Sign up for SpotCrime alerts to stay aware of what crime happens around you.  Becoming more aware of your surroundings and what happens in them is the best way to protect yourself!
