Sioux Falls, South Dakota--Crime Stops Here!

Image
Sioux Falls is the largest city in South Dakota with a population of approx 238, 000. It is found in the Southeastern part of the state, about 15 miles west of the Minnesota border and 8 miles northwest of the Iowa border. In 2010, the city was ranked #1 by Forbes as 'Best Small Places for Business and Careers' and #77 by CNNMoney as one of the 'Best Places to Live'. Checking out the SpotCrime crime map, you can see vandalism occurs throughout the city, not focusing on one specific area. On July 12, 2010, local media reported that the city was hit with a couple of acts of vandalism. The police and community believe them to be 'random acts' and still feel that their city is a safe place to live. The best way to prevent vandalism is to report any suspicious activity to your local police department. Businesses are a main target for vandals, therefor lock any doors and gates to prevent potential vandals from entering property. Installing motion sensor lights

Google maps are still used, however, the icon structure is different. Simple symbols represent each crime instead of pictures. If you hover over a crime, you can view the details and information. You can also find information below the map. Compared to SpotCrime, MyLocalCrime uses a more simple approach to get crime information out to citizens. Never leave notes for mailmen Install a peephole and deadbolts on your door Set a timer for your interior lights and set up motion senors on exterior lights Install a security system (or purchase a dog) Be sure valuables are not visible from the street If you head on vacation, have a trusted neighbor or your local law enforcement agency keep and eye on your place Keep your garage door closed and locked. This includes any doors in the garage that lead into you home. Si
